Sauna Cedar Terms and Conditions

Version date: October 4, 2026

These Terms and Conditions explain the terms for using our website and purchasing Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) products and services, including our 10-year limited warranty for replacement wood parts. Warranty service, labour and installation are charged separately, subject to the legal rights described below.

1. About these terms

Sauna Cedar operates www.saunacedar.ca. In these terms, "Sauna Cedar," "we," "us" and "our" refer to the supplier identified in your quotation or purchase agreement. "You" and "customer" refer to the purchaser or website user, as applicable.

Please read these terms before placing an order. The sales provisions form part of your purchase agreement when provided to you and incorporated into that agreement before acceptance. Your written quotation, order confirmation and any agreed specifications also form part of your purchase agreement.

If a specific term in your accepted written quotation or purchase agreement differs from these general terms, the specific agreed term takes precedence, subject to applicable law. These terms do not remove rights arising from representations or commitments that are legally binding on us.

Questions may be directed to info@saunacedar.ca

2. Consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or waives any right, warranty, condition, remedy or obligation that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or waived. This includes applicable rights relating to the quality of goods and services, misleading representations, cancellation, refunds and other remedies.

Every warranty limitation, final-sale provision, cost exclusion, liability limitation and indemnity in these terms is subject to this section. Our voluntary 10-year limited wood warranty is additional to applicable legal rights. Its parts-only coverage does not limit remedies the law may require for defective goods or improperly performed installation or services.

3. Quotations orders and agreed work

Your accepted written quotation or purchase agreement sets out the products, dimensions, materials, features, included installation, price, applicable taxes, payment schedule and estimated or agreed dates for your order.

We will document agreed changes to the specifications, work, price or schedule in writing. Additional work and related charges require your agreement before that work begins. Any legal rules governing estimates and additional charges continue to apply.

Photographs and samples illustrate design and general appearance. Natural wood varies between boards and batches. Such variation does not allow us to substitute a different material, reduce the agreed quality or materially change the agreed design without your agreement.

Estimated dates may be affected by matters such as material availability, weather, site readiness and approved changes. We will communicate material delays. An estimate does not remove any cancellation or other remedy available under applicable law.

4. Final sales returns and cancellations

Subject to section 2 and any express written agreement with Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca), all accepted purchases are final. We do not offer discretionary change-of-mind cancellations, returns, exchanges, credits, refunds or reimbursements for saunas, custom-built products, special-order items, accessories or services.

This policy does not prevent a covered warranty claim or replacement, or any cancellation, refund, return, repair, replacement or reimbursement required by law. Starting production, receiving a deposit or beginning installation does not remove a statutory cancellation right.

If you wish to cancel an order or report a problem, contact us promptly. A statutory cancellation notice may be given by any method permitted by law; this contact request does not impose an additional restriction on that right.

5. Ten (10) Year Limited Wood Warranty

Coverage and duration

Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) provides a limited warranty for the wooden components supplied as part of your Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) sauna against defects in the wood materials that materially affect their structural integrity or intended function under normal intended use and proper care.

Covered wood includes wooden components supplied by Sauna Cedar as part of your sauna order, such as wall boards, wooden bench components, trim and any included wooden accessories. Only the wooden portions of an accessory are covered under this warranty.

The warranty lasts for ten (10) years from the date Sauna Cedar completes the original installation, or from the original delivery date where installation is not included. We will use your purchase and installation records, or other reasonable evidence, to establish that date.

Replacement wood parts only

For an approved claim, Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) will supply a replacement for the covered defective wooden component at no charge for the replacement part itself.

This is a replacement-parts-only wood warranty. It does not provide a separate 10-year warranty for service, labour, installation or installation workmanship. It does not promise a refund or replacement of the entire sauna under this voluntary warranty. All remedies required by law remain available.

Service labour and installation costs:

Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) charges CAD $150 per hour, plus applicable taxes, for non-electrical service, labour, removal, fitting, installation and reinstallation requested in connection with this limited warranty.

Before paid work begins, Sauna Cedar will provide a written service quote identifying the scope of work, hourly rate, estimated labour hours, applicable taxes and any additional charges. The customer must approve the quote before the work begins.

Approved replacement wood parts remain free of charge under this limited warranty. These service charges do not change installation included in the original purchase agreement or any costs Sauna Cedar must bear under applicable law.

The following are not included in this voluntary wood warranty and are chargeable separately if requested and agreed:

Service calls, travel, site visits and on-site assessment or diagnosis.

Labour to access, dismantle, remove or dispose of defective components.

Cutting, fitting, installation or reinstallation of replacement wood parts.

Removal or reinstallation of benches, doors, glass, roofing or other components needed to reach the affected wood.

Restoration of finishes, landscaping or other property affected by replacement work.

The replacement wood part itself is supplied without charge for an approved claim. Service, labour, removal, installation and reinstallation costs are extra. Where Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) is asked to arrange or perform such work, the scope and charges must be disclosed and agreed before the paid work begins.

These exclusions apply to warranty work. They do not remove any installation included in the original accepted quotation or purchase agreement. They also do not require you to pay costs that Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) must bear under applicable law.

You do not have to buy installation or repair services from Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) to receive an otherwise covered replacement wood part. Any replacement work must be carried out competently and in accordance with applicable instructions and requirements.

Replacement specifications and remaining coverage

We will supply a replacement component suitable for the affected part's intended function. If the original component is unavailable, we will discuss a suitable equivalent with you and obtain your agreement before making a material substitution.

Replacement wood may differ in colour, grain, knots or appearance from existing or weathered wood. A cosmetic difference alone does not entitle the customer to replacement of unaffected components. Collection or delivery arrangements will be confirmed when a claim is approved.

A replacement component is covered for the remainder of the original 10-year period. Supplying a replacement does not restart or extend that period, except where required by law or expressly agreed in writing.

6. Natural wood characteristics and warranty exclusions

Wood is a natural material. Variations in colour, grain and knots, natural weathering or greying, seasonal expansion and contraction, and minor surface checking or cracks that do not materially affect structural integrity or intended function are not defects under this voluntary warranty.

Normal wear, routine cleaning, routine adjustments, and the appearance or renewal of stains, sealers, coatings and other finishes are not covered by this wood replacement warranty.

The warranty does not cover damage to the extent it is caused by:

Misuse, abuse, impact, improper heater operation or operation outside the equipment's intended conditions.

Failure to follow reasonable written care instructions, where that failure causes the claimed damage.

Persistent excess moisture, inadequate ventilation, poor drainage or inadequate support attributable to site conditions or work outside Sauna Cedar's (www.saunacedar.ca) agreed responsibility.

Alterations, relocation or improper repairs or installation by others, where that work causes the claimed damage.

Fire, flooding, vandalism or other external physical damage outside normal intended use.

Chemicals, treatments or finishes that are unsuitable for the component or its intended environment.

An exclusion applies only to the affected damage caused by the excluded condition. A maintenance issue, alteration or repair does not automatically cancel coverage for an unrelated wood defect. These exclusions do not remove Sauna Cedar's (www.saunacedar.ca) responsibility for its own acts or omissions where applicable law requires a remedy.

7. Making a warranty claim

To make a claim under the voluntary 10-year warranty, notify Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) at info@saunacedar.ca  during the warranty period and as soon as reasonably possible after discovering the problem. This reporting process does not shorten any statutory claim period or restrict a legally permitted method of notice.

Please provide:

Your name and contact information.

Your order or invoice details, or other reasonable proof of purchase.

A description of the affected component and when you noticed the problem.

Photographs or video showing the issue, where practical.

We will review the available information, explain any additional information reasonably needed, and advise you of the claim decision and reasons. If an on-site assessment is proposed, we will explain its purpose and disclose any proposed fee before you decide whether to authorize it.

Please allow a reasonable opportunity to assess the issue before disposing of an affected part or arranging non-urgent third-party work. Take reasonable steps to prevent injury and further damage. Necessary emergency action does not automatically invalidate a claim, although it is helpful to document the condition where safe and practical.

Third-party work is not reimbursed under this voluntary parts-only warranty unless we agree in writing. This does not exclude reimbursement or another remedy required by law.

8. Heaters, Manufacturer Warranties and Electrical Work

The 10-year limited wood warranty provided by Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) does not cover heaters, controls, wiring, electrical equipment, glass, metal roofing, fasteners, hardware or other non-wood components.

Heater manufacturer warranty

Heaters supplied with your sauna carry a two (2) year limited manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the applicable brand’s written warranty terms, including its coverage, start date, exclusions and claim requirements.

Customers must contact the heater’s manufacturer or its designated warranty service provider directly for manufacturer warranty claims, technical support, troubleshooting and repair or replacement authorization. Use the contact details in the heater’s documentation and provide the requested proof of purchase, model and serial number.

Sauna Cedar does not issue its own heater warranty and does not administer, approve or perform repairs or replacements under the manufacturer’s warranty. The manufacturer or its designated provider handles those claims. Any parts, labour, shipping or other costs covered by that warranty are determined by its written terms.

Electrical work

Sauna Cedar does not provide electrical installation, wiring, circuit or breaker work, heater electrical connections, electrical troubleshooting or electrical repairs. These services are excluded from the sauna installation package and the 10-year limited wood warranty.

The customer must independently arrange and pay for electrical work through an appropriately licensed electrical contractor. In Ontario, hired electrical work must be carried out by an ECRA/ESA Licensed Electrical Contractor where required by law.

Sauna Cedar does not supervise, warrant or accept contractual responsibility for electrical work performed by a contractor independently engaged by the customer. That contractor is responsible for its work and applicable safety, notification and inspection requirements.

9. Site preparation installation and electrical work

Responsibility for site preparation, foundations, access, permits, installation and other work will be set out in your accepted quotation or purchase agreement. You must provide the access and site conditions you agreed to provide. Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) remains responsible for the work it agreed to perform.

Electrical work and heater connections must comply with applicable requirements and be completed by appropriately qualified and licensed persons where required. Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) is not responsible for any electrical work. Do not operate the sauna until the necessary installation and electrical work is complete and any required approvals have been obtained.

10. Care and maintenance

Follow the written care instructions supplied with your sauna and the operating instructions for its heater and other equipment. Keep the sauna clean, manage moisture, allow it to dry after use, and maintain the drainage, ventilation and supporting base as instructed.

Inspect the sauna periodically for loose components, unusual movement, water entry, damage or unsafe conditions. Report problems and arrange appropriate corrective work. Stop using equipment that appears unsafe.

Use coatings, sealers and cleaning products only where suitable for the particular surface and permitted by the relevant instructions. Do not apply a product to an interior sauna surface unless it is specifically suitable and its use is permitted by those instructions.

Routine care and maintenance are the customer's responsibility. A maintenance-related warranty exclusion applies only where the failure to maintain the sauna causes the claimed damage.

11. Safe use and supervision

USE COMMON SENSE

Any person using the sauna shall exercise reasonable care, sound judgment, and common sense at all times. Users are solely responsible for using the sauna in a safe and prudent manner and shall take all necessary precautions to avoid injury, damage, or harm to themselves, other persons, or property. Failure to exercise appropriate caution may result in serious injury or death, for which the user assumes all associated risks.

Sauna use involves heat and hot surfaces and carries risks including burns, dehydration, overheating, dizziness, falls and other injury. Follow the equipment manufacturer's warnings and safe-use instructions. Session length and temperature must suit the user; no suggested duration is a guarantee of safety.

Seek appropriate medical advice if you have a condition or concern that may affect safe sauna use. Leave the sauna promptly if you feel unwell, dizzy, faint, nauseated or short of breath, and obtain medical help as appropriate. Do not continue a session through concerning symptoms.

Do not use the sauna while impaired by alcohol, drugs or other substances. Smoking, horseplay and unsafe conduct are prohibited. Keep glass and other breakable items out of the sauna. Avoid contact with hot heater surfaces and stones, and keep combustible items at the clearances required by the manufacturer.

Children and other users who need supervision must not be left unattended. Any use by a person under 18 requires parent or guardian permission, continuous competent adult supervision, and compliance with the manufacturer's age restrictions and any relevant medical advice. Permission alone does not establish that sauna use is suitable for a particular child.

Customers must take reasonable steps to communicate the operating rules and warnings to people they allow to use the sauna. This responsibility does not waive anyone else's legal rights or remove Sauna Cedar's (www.saunacedar.ca) legal obligations.

SAUNA USE DURATION AND TIME LIMITS

The purchaser and all users acknowledge that prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures may increase the risk of dehydration, heat-related illness, serious injury, or death. Unless otherwise directed by a licensed physician, healthy adults should generally limit each sauna session to approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Any user who experiences shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, faintness, excessive fatigue, confusion, or any other physical discomfort shall exit the sauna immediately and seek medical attention where appropriate. Users shall not re-enter the sauna until such symptoms have completely resolved and it is safe to do so.

Each user is solely responsible for monitoring their own physical condition, exercising sound judgment, and determining whether it is safe to continue using the sauna. SAUNA CEDAR (www.saunacedar.ca) makes no representation or warranty regarding the suitability of sauna use for any individual and shall not be liable for any injury, illness, medical condition, loss, damage, or death arising from prolonged exposure to heat, failure to exit the sauna upon experiencing symptoms, or any misuse or improper use of the sauna.

Burns: Avoid accidental burns. Do not touch the heater-rocks when rocks are in use.

12. Responsibility and limitation of liability

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY – PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

The purchaser acknowledges and agrees that SAUNA CEDAR (www.saunacedar.ca) shall have no responsibility or liability whatsoever for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, claim, cost, or expense arising from or related to the misuse of the sauna or any violation of these Terms and Conditions by the purchaser or any other person using the sauna.

Without limiting the foregoing, SAUNA CEDAR (www.saunacedar.ca) shall not be liable for any incident resulting from the consumption of alcohol, the use of illegal drugs or intoxicating substances, smoking or vaping, horseplay, reckless or negligent conduct, or the use or presence of glass, ceramic, or other breakable items within or around the sauna.

The purchaser assumes full responsibility for ensuring that all users of the sauna comply with these safety requirements and acknowledges that any failure to do so is undertaken entirely at the purchaser's and user's own risk. The purchaser further agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SAUNA CEDAR (www.saunacedar.ca), its owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, successors, and assigns from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including legal fees, arising directly or indirectly from any prohibited activity, misuse, negligence, or failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions.

Each party remains responsible for losses to the extent they are legally attributable to that party's acts, omissions or breach of duty. Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) is not responsible for loss or damage to the extent caused by customer misuse, negligent operation, unauthorized alterations or work performed improperly by others, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

To the extent permitted by law, Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) excludes liability for indirect or consequential loss, including lost income or business interruption. This exclusion does not apply to the extent the loss results from Sauna Cedar's fraud, wilful misconduct or negligence, or where exclusion is otherwise prohibited by law.

Nothing in these terms releases Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) from liability or obligations that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable obligations concerning goods and services. Your acceptance of these terms does not waive claims belonging to guests, family members, minors or other third parties.

MINORS (UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE)

The purchaser acknowledges and agrees that any person under the age of eighteen (18) years (each, a "Minor") shall not use the sauna unless the Minor has the prior express authorization of their parent or legal guardian and is under the continuous, direct, and competent supervision of the purchaser or another responsible adult at all times.

The purchaser assumes full responsibility for the care, supervision, conduct, and safety of every Minor using or entering the sauna and shall ensure that all safety instructions, warnings, and operating guidelines are strictly followed. The purchaser further warrants that any required parental or legal guardian consent has been obtained before permitting a Minor to use the sauna.

SAUNA CEDAR (www.saunacedar.ca) shall have no duty to supervise, monitor, or verify the age of any user or the existence of parental or legal guardian consent and shall not be liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, claim, or expense arising directly or indirectly from the use or misuse of the sauna by any Minor or from any failure to obtain appropriate consent or provide adequate supervision.

The purchaser agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SAUNA CEDAR (www.saunacedar.ca), its owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, successors, and assigns from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including legal fees, arising out of or relating to the use of the sauna by any Minor.

13. Customer indemnity

WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNIFICATION

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the purchaser, on behalf of themselves and on behalf of all persons who use or access the sauna with the purchaser's permission or authority, hereby acknowledges, understands, and agrees that the use of a sauna involves inherent and foreseeable risks, including, without limitation, the risk of serious bodily injury, illness, burns, dehydration, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, allergic reactions, slips, falls, property damage, permanent disability, and death.

Accordingly, the purchaser voluntarily and knowingly assumes all risks, whether known or unknown, associated with the ownership, installation, operation, maintenance, or use of the sauna.

The purchaser further agrees that SAUNA CEDAR (www.saunacedar.ca), together with its owners, directors, officers, shareholders, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, successors, assigns, representatives, and insurers (collectively, the "Released Parties"), shall not be liable for, and are hereby fully and forever released, discharged, and held harmless from, any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or legal proceedings of any nature whatsoever, including legal fees, arising out of or relating to any injury, illness, disease, burn, disability, death, property damage, economic loss, or any other loss or damage sustained by the purchaser or by any other person, including but not limited to family members, guests, invitees, occupants, tenants, contractors, employees, agents, or any other individual who uses, enters, or is present in or around the sauna, regardless of the legal theory asserted.

This release and waiver applies to all claims arising from or relating to the ownership, delivery, installation, assembly, maintenance, operation, misuse, or use of the sauna, including, to the fullest extent permitted by law, claims alleged to arise in whole or in part from the negligence of any of the Released Parties, except where liability cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

The purchaser further agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, liabilities, judgments, damages, losses, fines, penalties, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or relating to the purchaser's ownership or use of the sauna or the use of the sauna by any third party, including any breach of these Terms and Conditions or failure to comply with any applicable laws, safety instructions, or manufacturer recommendations.

The purchaser expressly acknowledges that they have carefully read and fully understand this Waiver, Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnification provision, that they have had the opportunity to obtain independent legal advice before accepting these Terms and Conditions, and that they voluntarily agree to be legally bound by its terms.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Sauna Cedar (www.saunacedar.ca) for third-party claims and reasonable related legal costs, but only to the extent caused by your negligent or wilful misuse, unlawful conduct or unauthorized alterations, or conduct of a person for whom you are legally responsible.

This obligation does not cover the portion of a claim caused by Sauna Cedar's (www.saunacedar.ca) own negligence, wilful misconduct, breach of agreement or breach of a legal duty. It does not make you responsible for another person's conduct solely because they are a guest or sauna user, and it does not limit non-waivable consumer rights.

14. Website use

Use our website lawfully and provide accurate information when making enquiries or placing orders. Do not impersonate another person, submit fraudulent information, interfere with website security or attempt unauthorized access.

We may require reasonable verification before allowing another person to change an order or receive customer information. Customers may appoint an authorized representative, subject to appropriate verification and applicable privacy requirements.

Website availability may be interrupted for maintenance or matters outside our reasonable control. Any correction to website information does not automatically amend an accepted purchase agreement or remove rights arising from a legally binding representation.

15. Personal information and privacy

How We Collect Non-Personal Information:

We, along with our third-party service providers, may gather non-personal information through several methods, including:

We handle personal information for the purposes described in that policy and as permitted by applicable law. Where consent is required, it will be obtained in an appropriate form. Accepting these terms does not by itself provide consent to unrelated marketing or every possible use of personal information.

Contact info@saunacedar.ca  with privacy questions or requests. Any changes to privacy practices will be addressed through the Privacy Policy and any notice or consent required by law.

16. Updates and existing orders

We may update these terms by posting a revised version with a new version date. Revised sales and warranty terms apply to new orders when disclosed and incorporated into the purchase agreement before acceptance.

Posting revised terms does not retrospectively reduce or replace the warranty, installation commitments or other rights agreed for an existing order. Existing orders remain subject to the terms applicable when they were made, unless a later change is lawfully agreed and does not remove rights that cannot be waived.

17. Governing law severability and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, except where mandatory laws require otherwise. Disputes may be brought before the courts of Ontario, subject to any right under applicable law to use another court or procedure.

If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be ineffective only to that extent. The remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of the right to enforce it on another occasion.
